Alexandra Maria Lara has been a Romanian/German television and film actress for a long time. Alexandra is known for roles as a character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her career in showbiz at a young age. She played lead roles in dramas on television as young as 16 years old. In the Oscar-nominated film Downfall her character as Secretary Traudljunge, Adolf Hitler's secretary was also highly praised. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were both nominated for Oscars. Alexandra's professional career has included be involved in a variety of important national and international projects. This includes the British biographical Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French historical mini-series Napoleon as well as other miniseries. Her other roles include being juror at both The Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
